Request for help on our Brother brand approval application
Our application for Brother brand approval has kept getting declined. We are the authorized reseller of Brother. We provided our authorization letter from Brother and we also provided the sales invoices showing the Amazon required amount of units ordered from our supplier, which is the authorized distributor of Brother. In addition, per Amazon’s claim that they could not verify our supplier’s information, we also got the proof document from the distribution sales manager of Brother International Corporation to confirm that our supplier is their authorized distributor. However, upon providing all these materials, our application still got declined with no useful responses (likely being replied/processed by Bot). We feel really frustrated and do not know how we should proceed with it. @Dougal_Amazon@Michelle_Amazon @Manny_Amazon Doug, Michelle and Manny, could you please kindly take a look at our case (ID: 17699022151) and provide some help on it? If there is anything else needed in addition to what we have provided, please feel free to let us know. Many thanks in advance!

Look over your dealer agreement VERY carefully. Because of all the weasel/waffle lawyer language in agreements you might need to have an attorney verify some meaning.
Quite often a 'dealer agreement' means that you are permitted to list and sell ON YOUR OWN WEBSITE but are not permitted to sell on other sites such as Amazon, Walmart, and so on.
This has been a continuing bone of contention for other brands such as Nike that specifically forbids sales (despite all the sellers listing gray market stuff here). There have even been reports of Amazon accepting the dealer agreement on rare occasions -- must be huge sellers to get the approval since money talks here!

Amazon will want your authorization to specifically mention that you are authorized to sell ON AMAZON.
You may wish to check with your account rep with Brother as to whether or not they allow it.
And keep in mind that Amazon will never tell you exactly what is wrong with your application.

I guess you need the "Letter of Authorization" from the Brother headquarter of the country you sell in. If you have a Letter of Authorization from Japan it will probably not allow you to sell in USA. In this case you would need a letter from Brother USA.

Hi @Seller_SMx25rK8RsLz1
My name is Sandy from the Community manager team.
The team follows LOA requirements for the following. Please take a look at the LOA requirements.
A Letter of Authorization is a license agreement that is entered into between an owner of a trademark / design patent / copyright and a third party to authorize that third party (licensee) to use the Intellectual Property (IP), in exchange for consideration.
In this case it seems like you have a LOA from the Brothers Authorized partner program but the information provided in the attachments do not match with the trademark owner so perhaps this is why it is getting declined. I will try to get more information.
In the meantime, the best and most efficient way to sell Brother products is to get in touch with the trademark owner and get you directly added as a reseller in Brand registry by the administrator of the brand. Is it possible to get in touch?
Best,
Sandy
