235 Suspected Trade Mark Violations!

We just got hit with 235 Suspected Trade Mark Violations for the use of the word Honda. I thought they were all compliant in that they were things like:

Airblade Screen SCRH003 Fits Honda CBR600
or Biketek Right Hand Mirror Fits Honda NT650

I thought that as long as you did not try to make it sound like they were Honda OEM parts and you mentioned the actual brand name of the product you should be able to say what it fits. Otherwise we would just end up with every title being ‘Exhaust Fits Some Motorcycles !’

The situation is farcical and I wondered are we likely to lose our account over this and also is there a way of appealing or resisting them. Obviously if we now cannot say what they fit we are kind of stuffed!
What I do not understand though is that if you sell something like phone cases you can say that it fits a Samsung or an iPhone … surely we should be able to do the same with bike parts

Any advice gratefully received !

We’ve faced this same problem usually using the term ‘compatible with’ or ‘for’ ITEM MODEL will reactivate the listing but sometimes it just doesn’t work I would try this:

Airblade Screen SCRH003 CBR600
or Biketek Right Hand Mirror Compatible with Honda NT650

I can’t advise re the trademark violation, I agree it is mental, but, if you remove the word Honda but leave the model number in, presumably your listing would still come up if someone searches for the actual model they have (and there’s not crossover between brands using the same model numbers?)

Had the same thing (albeit on a smaller scale) for a product that is used by Team Honda.

Had many similar issues with items that fit certain manufacturer’s bikes (batteries springs to mind), seems they have a purge every so often

You need to use the term “compatible with…” not “fits …”.

Ive been looking at more of the Violations and am now even more confused as they have pulled ones with perfectly compliant titles however if the word Honda has been used in the description they have took them down. So am I correct in thinking it is not just the titles now we cannot mention what it fits in the description either … madness !!! Suppose it helps Amazon make money with all the returns

I had a bout 12 to deal with and its a night mare, we just gave up on trying. Each time we try to appeal we were giving different reasons and its the bots who pick this things up in the first place. You need to be prepared that even thought its says about the word honda, it could be also related to a patent. I had my products titles totally perfect and when I started appealing them I found out that they are due to patent to a totally different product that is not even similar to the one Im selling.

You should first try to fix the titles/descriptions/bullet points to see if that will fix the problems, if not you will create a case for them to update the listing from their end and thats when you will find out whats the exact issue. If they will approve your change the violation will be gone from your acc health. But with 235 of them you could have got your account suspended because I have only 11 and my health is in yellow.

Maybe somebody else have an idea why these are poping just from nowhere, I have got suggestion is the competitor.
