Import from China
Hello,
I’d like to ask for help to understand how the transport from China to an amazon storage works it’s my first time. I’d like to import from China to UK using boat and plane.
I’d like to import the part that comes by plane to my address in UK so I asked my supplier to send it there directly. How much will it cost to send this part to an amazon storage (there’s one 30km away and there’s just 33kg and small dimension)?
i’d like to import the part that comes by boat directly to an amazon storage. Should I ask my supplier to just bring it to a UK port and then ask Amazon to take care of the rest or should I ask him to bring it to the storage directly ? What’s the most cost efficient solution ?
thank you

In the short term it will cost the UK it’s economy in the longer term (not that much longer) it will cost the entire planet.

First of all, you need to read Amazon’s own Seller University - this should have all the info and instructions - link is at the bottom of your Seller Homepage .
Cannot help you with this, others might be able to if they import from China, but as for costs - personally this is the sort of thing you really need to research for yourself.

By part do you mean 2 separate items or 2 items that will be sold together?

Thats irrelevant,Amazon allocate the destination when you create shipping plan.
Part by plane,Part by ship are these parts sold as one unit?
Also hope you have checked shipping costs from China they are exhorbitant currently.

Where are you based ? Are you in China or UK ?

You need to get it shipped to your address in the UK, then inspect it, then shoot to Amazon.
Even if it’s coming via boat, get it shipped to you, inspect and send on.
There are companies which will do the inspection and forwarding on for you.

If this is the first time you have dealt with this supplier I strongly recommend you get everything sent to your address.
Chinese suppliers are notorious for having quality issues and it’s quite common for them to send high quality goods on the first shipment but then not so good on the next one. Until you have established a good relationship and you can trust them you shoud always get the goods sent to you so you can inspect them.
Amazon also have some strict criteria about accepting shipments, so I wouldn’t recommend getting stuff imported and sent straight to Amazon if you have no experience of importing. A lot can go wrong.
Sending the goods to Amazon from your own address isn’t that expensive if you use Amazon’s partnered shipping program. I pay about £5 for a 15kg box 30 x 45 x 54cm.

Are you new to importing in general OR you have experience and you’ve just never sent anything into Amazon before?
I’m happy to help, because you sound like you need a bit. Direct message me.
In the meantime, others have already advised your starting point should be Seller University. I cannot put into words how important this is. Do not attempt to do anything until you have completed it. Without this knowledge you will be self-harming within weeks.
Oh, and you can call it air-freight and sea-freight by the way. ‘Boat’ and ‘plane’ will get you mugged on price by freight forwarders.

It’s not the best time to dispatch the large parcels from the China to the U,K, because the shipping expense had been raised many times, crazy raised. Normally, dispatch the large parcel from the U,K to the European countries, the most cheapest carrier is railway.

I definitely think they are new to importing lol
