Royalmail surcharge
Hi,
I send all my parcel through Royalmail large letter and parcels.
SInce three weeks i m getting significant Royalmail surcharges eventhough all my parcels declared correctly.
I have spoken to my Business support manager and he said it is due to Royalmail automation system. |Contact Royalmail Finance team . There is no one you can speak to them directly regarding surcharges. The only way we can communicate is open a case with Royamail invoice query . But i did not get satisfied answer from them and I m getting surcharges everyday significantly. I send aroung 400 posts everyday. From them Royalmail is saing 300 to 320 post are declared wrong . It classify as a parcel and i declared as a large letter. But that is not the case. It goes very easily through Royalmail large letter . Of course sometimes 3 0r 4 posts can go in wrong size by mistake as I am only one man show but it can not be all of them.
I do not know what to do now . Does anyone know is there any other company do karge letter tracked? I would like to switch my courier company but do not know who does large letter tracked.

so the depth may be ok , but what length is the package - as LL is a max of 35.3cm

We have tool of measuring size and depth and it goes very easily in large letter. We been doing business with Royalmail since last 6 years .Never been happened before but keep happening since last month. Every single day we are getting surcharges and we have been told by account manager it may be due to automation system. We have appealed but got rejected.It is been very frustrating and thinking to change delivery service provider. Please let me know if you guys know anyone who does large letter as per as i know mostly other companies do parcel but not Large letter as cheap as Royalmail and my main volume is large letter.

Royal Mail have tightened up on Large Letters - they now have to be able to move freely through their size template. Whereas before you could apply a little force, now you are no longer able to do this. If it doesn’t go through using only gravity, it will get rejected. I have a friend who has literally been through this and she only learnt of the tightening up of LL policy from a phone call with a senior manager.
