How do you get traffic for your FBM products?
Hi all, i’m a new seller and need some advise/guidance on FBM.
I have a few PL listings as FBA, however since i’m still waiting for my VAT number, i can’t send stock to Amazon warehouse yet, so they’re all still inactive.
While i’m waiting, I have created FBM listing for one of my products to start selling, and here’s my dilemma:
- As a new seller, and FBM, i don’t have the Buy box.
- Since i don’t have the Buy Box, i can’t run PPC.
- Can’t participate in Vine or Deals for the same reason.
My question is, how do i get traffic to my product which is buried in page 10+ without the help of PPC (obviously no reviews and no selling history)?
this is the second week for me with an active listing, but still 0 sales. the account has been created 4 months ago.
Thanks for any advise/prior experience with similar situation.

Where are you based? How quick would postage be? Is it a PL product that’s sold by loads of other sellers with different brands? Have you put all the keywords in?

Sorry i should have clarified. i do not deliver to the UK at the moment. and the countries i have selected to sell to are all within the 2-3 days range (some only with express shipping of course, which i’m swallowing the cost of in the beginning to get the product up an running).
I just would like to know whether anyone who launched a product on FBM with no FBA inventory, how long did it take them to sell, rank and win the buy box.
for instance, SS said when i updated my title and keywords, it would take up to 4 days to start indexing and not on the same day.

You could try promoting them on social media with a link to your products on Amazon.
It depends what your products are but last year I sold out of a Christmas card featuring a musician after a friend promoted it on an online fan page (said friend was the photographer who took the picture.) I have also successfully generated sales for dog-themed cards by running an introductory price and posting about it on breed-specific Facebook groups.
