Selling Multiples of an item

We sell various items that would sell better as multiples of the item.

An example would be some of the threads we sell. Individually they require a parcel to send as are above the 25mm threshold but weigh next to nothing so can easily send up to 20 for the same price.

When listing these threads I have seen some multiple offers and jumped on the listing as well but that’s the odd one or two.

As we have the upc/ean for the product what would be the best way to go about this

1 apply for a gtin? to allow us to have 2/3/4/5 of the product listed

2 buy a subscription to GS1 and use them to create new listings for the multiples.

3 another way ?? open to ideas

I realise we can offer multi-buy discounts but think that’s just for business users

You can do money/percentage off promotions via Manage Promotions to encourage multiple orders. It does at least present these (I assume when you have the buy box only). This may be the best way to push customers to buy more. It’s open to none business customers as well. You can do quantity breaks on a percentage off promo as well. So you could do buy 2, save 5%, buy 5 save 10%, buy 20 save 25% etc.

I have a feeling different quantities may not be applicable as a variation anymore - though someone may be able to confirm. I think the issue was dropshippers were creating bundles of multiple products for an inflated price.
