EU sales & VAT Charges by couriers
Can anyone offer advice on the above. we have had a few customer, particularly in Spain saying they have been charged VAT on shipment from NI.
We have been advise by Royal Mail not to put a CN22 form on outward orders but it appears some customer are facing VAT charges upon delivery.

Technically you don’t need a CN22 if sending from NI to EU (though personally I would still put them on just in case - better safe than sorry) So technically what RM told you is true.
However, Royal Mail probably don’t know that it is a requirement from Amazon to send all your overseas orders with the vat and import etc paid, so that their customers aren’t hit with unexpected import fees.
I personally don’t ship overseas (someone more knowledgeable should be along shortly) but I believe I have seen mention that Royal Mail do not supply such a service.

I don’t have specific knowledge of how it is done but I have to assume
Shipments to the EU would at least require to have your (XI) NI-EORI associated with them to accurately describe their origin.
If you trade more than EUR10,000 to the EU, including IE, then you are registered for IOSS so your shipments would additionally have your EU VAT details?
