Letters returned by RM

Hi, wondering if anyone else has had mail returned to them by RM recently with what looks like a machine made ‘scuff’ across the address sticker. I received the first one on Saturday - it was posted on 13th March, red stickered by RM on 22nd as ‘address incomplete’ - thought it was accidentally damaged however a second one arrived today, posted on the same day, stickered the same on 31st. The ‘scuff’ I’m now thinking might be deliberate since although messy its across the addresses (2nd class letters bought through Amazon) but why? I’ve emailed RM (no-one specific, I don’t have an account manager) but wondering if anyone had any thoughts? Can I get a refund?

Sorry - Proof of Postage. e.g. a receipt from the Post Office if you’ve taken them to be scanned.

Looks like they had a new start on that day!

I doubt it, they will probably claim that the address was unreadable and its your fault.

Its possible it fell on the floor and was kicked under something? Hard to tell without seeing it.

Glad to say its never happened to me though.

Like this? -

Looks like it got caught in their machine and heat destroyed the thermal label. They opened it up and sent it back to me.

I never attempted to get a refund from RM. But if you’re confident (and have POP) that the item was fine and followed all RMs rules, then…

Yes!

Sorry, I didn’t know I could upload a photo. I’ve sent 1000’s without incident and then 2 sent on the same day end up like this?! Neither were opened and the cards arrived back in sellable condition at least.

What’s POP?

Ah, no, I do get receipts but bin quite quickly - I’ve never tried to claim before and the initial claim form I tried to use said I couldn’t with that service level but this seems fairly obvious that’s its their fault…to me anyway! I won’t waste more time on it (unless a lot more turn up) but just curious. Thank you for your help!

No but I have had at least two arrive with customers empty with the QR code drawn over with black marker pen.

I had an item returned to me with the label just like that, however, it wasn’t an order it was greetings card sent to USA …it wasn’t through my OBA I just purchased the postage online as a personal customer.
I was livid as it was for a new baby, and I’d sent it as soon as he was born, and didn’t get the card back until 3 months later, after I’d already been to visit!
RM had put “address illegible on it”
I didn’t try & claim as I’d already thrown away the receipt for the card
