BEWARE! Phishing messages on Amazon
Hi all,
Just wanted to warn the community that I’ve received a phishing message, claiming to be from Amazon Support, asking to enter the code in to the browser to verify. I believe I would be not the only one to get these.
It came from
Amazon customer Marketplace Centre ljbdcy4d4s3dmb2+A08172861R1JRM1MS61E0@marketplace.amazon.co.uk
but I believe the emails might be different.
This came thorough the Buyer communication facility, whilst genuine Amazon communication comes thorough Case Log only.
Just want to warn you not to enter any codes in your browser, and report messages to amazon SS immediately.
Stay safe and take care!
below is the message text I got (I removed the code itself for safety reason)
You received this message because we are doing a security check.
To confirm that you are not violating Amazon policy, we need to open an investigation into this matter. If you do not complete the verification we reserve the right to suspend your account within 48 hours of receiving this message.
To verify your identity, please copy the code below into your browser (in the address bar) and log in.
This code sees your verification and gives us confirmation that you have received this message and have read our policies.
Copy the code WITHOUT SPACES (paste the two groups together).
Here is the code:
xxxxxxxxx. xxxxxxx
Enter the code in your browser (Chrome, Mozilla, Safari) to verify your account.
Once you provide the required information and enter the code, the system will identify you and you will receive an alert.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Please do not violate Amazon policy in the future.
Regards,
Amazon Account Specialist

Yes, there is already a thread about this somewhere - others have received the same email.

Hi,
Just to add to what you wrote, if you or any other seller have also found this phishing text (it is a quite old one: a thread about it was opened about 3 years ago!) on your e-mail inbox, I would recommend you to forward it to this address: stop-spoofing@amazon.com, either directly or by sending it as an attachment.
Hope it helps

I also received the same phishing message.
