DPD delivery not accepted at MAN3

I sent a shipment to MAN3 on the 14th August by DPD, and it has just been returned to me unopened. Seller support has just got back to me (after several days and too late to fix the problem) with the following message. If they had replied in a timely manner the problem could have been solved.

“According to our systems the appointment for this shipment is on the 22nd of August. The carrier needs to deliver the shipment in the timeframe specified in the appointment they received. What happened in this case is that your carrier has tried to deliver the shipment before the appointment, which is the cause of refusal.”

I had no idea we had to wait for an appointment and at no time was it specified during the send FBA inventory process.

Pretty poor effort. I have never come across this problem before. All previous deliveries have been accepted next day. I will be out of pocket for the courier fees I guess and reluctant to send any more stock currently.

My item is now out of stock and I have no idea which courier to use in order to get a shipment through.

The problem has been discussed at length on this forum, do a search for additional information.

During the sign-up for FBA you’re asked to confirm you’ve read and understand the rules while agreeing to the terms.
This page is part of that:

It’s hard to believe DPD didn’t pick up on the fact they were trying to deliver to Amazon without an appointment…
Generally the appointments are arranged by the courier, even though Amazon will tell you it’s your responsibility.

Appointments aren’t booked until AFTER the courier has picked up from you, so it’s unlikely a fault on your part, the blame most likely lies with DPD or Amazon, as such you would be wise chasing them up to claim the costs back from them if you can.

A while ago Amazon refused a delivery because they changed the appointment an hour before it was due to be delivered and didn’t inform our courier or us about the change until the day after.
our courier charged us around £700 for storage, Amazon agreed to pay this after a LOT of complaining (then took nearly 6 months to actually pay up).

I sent inventory to Amazon FBA last week. 2 separate shipping plans on 2 different days. Both show on the DPD tracking as confirmed at HUB and then nothing. When I spoke to DPD they said that they would search for the parcels, but sometimes parcels are loaded on to trunks to be sent to Amazon without scanning.

Has anyone ever had to deal with something like this before?

One was sent to MAN1 and one to LCY2, the strange thing is that the LCY2 parcel has checked in and been received in full!

I am hoping this is the case and that the MAN1 parcel turns up, should have arrived at Amazon on Monday. Anyone know if MAN1 are usually slow at processing inventory?

Will definitely be taking out extended liability next time!

hi,

anyone know if DPD have sorted this to MAN3? as just got a shipment assigned to there and dont want to send it if they havent. As my previous consignment is still lying in a DPD depot from 20/08/18. Aboslute farce!, DPD dont seem to care about getting the boxes back to me as they are now saying they have to put out a search for them. absolute joke!
