Contacting Buyers?
Here you are folks - for all worried about contacting a buyer with an order query - straight from a Mod on Handmade
Should there be an issue with shipping an item (undelivered, or not enough detail on address, or need order clarification) then by all means reach out to the buyer directly.

What am I missing, what does 'reach out to the buyer directly ’ mean to you that it doesn’t already mean to me.
Are you suggesting we can phone them, or are you merely re-stating current policy?

No indication anywhere in that statement that he is giving the go ahead to phone the customer . Besides a moderator or any other staff member is not in authority to override a written Amazon rule .

It definitely doesn’t. We have it in writing from Amazon policy makers themselves that it is NOT acceptable to ring buyers.

Amazon call us on a weekly basis with overzealous buyers panicking about deliveries that are a hour late , amazon block the reply from us to the customer , mental ! .
As a last resort we will call the customer or even text them if their is a issue , amazon call us when a email will suffice and they know we will receive it from them, Pot Calling the Kettle Black

Amazon have told me to phone buyer if a problem with order, and have even provided phone numbers that were not on the order form.

Have you noticed OP has not come back yet - methinks he just wanted to stir it.

We sell palletised items, on here, eBay and our websites, so we have to contact all customer’s to arrange the delivery, as we need to know property details, details about the road/street/lane, when to deliver, what vehicle to request etc. Amazon buyer messaging, from our experience is pretty useless and we barely ever receive a response, so we will send one email, wait a day and then call them. It is also far easier to have that conversation over the phone rather than back and forth emails.
We’ve not had any complaints from Customer’s regarding using their phone numbers. On any platform.
That being said, I suppose it depends upon why you are contacting the customer. A customer would probably not be happy if you are using their phone number to just make general enquiries.

Amazon make it (literally in some cases) impossible to contact buyers via the Amazon messaging system and then expect sellers not to pick up the phone and call them? I can’t believe that they would prefer you sent the buyer a letter like it’s the last century rather than sort a problem out in 2 minutes by ringing them.

Why is there a debate about any of this?
The policy states clearly not to. Stop trying to bend words.

Please, please, please, make this stop…
I can’t take any more.
