Order sent to IT marketplace despite being in holiday mode
Hi all,
Can you please advise - I have noticed that one of my products was sold in Italian marketplace despite my listings being inactive (holiday mode) on all marketplaces except for the UK.
On top of that I was charged a huge amount of money that almost equals the price of the product itself so I am basically at a loss. I have only been selling on amazon for about a month I am being very careful with everything but I really wonder if I made a mistake somewhere?
It’s been a very stressful month already selling here!!

it sounds as though you are using FBA.
Holiday mode does not affect FBA listings.
Did the item actually sell on Amazon.it or did an Italian customer purchase from amazon.co.uk?
If it actually sold on Amazion IT:
Check the export settings for your account -> hover over settings at the upper right -> click Fulfillment by Amazon at the bottom of the list -> click “edit” next to “Cross-Border Fulfilment Settings” -> assuming you are not registered for VAT in the 7 EU countries required then you must ensure pan-EU is NOT ticked and “allow inventory to be stored in these countries” only has countries ticked where you are registered for VAT -> ensure “automatic listing creation” is not ticked (you cannot untick it from here, follow the link to the international listing tool to remove the “link” to other countries).
After this the only way to stop sales on other countries is to delete the FBA SKUs from the inventory in those countries.
If it sold on .co.uk shipped to italy:
Any sales where for example an Italian customer has purchased from the uk will APPEAR to have really high fees, however you will also notice additional payments on your account as the customer pays the difference. As such you do not need to worry about these.
