Finding out the exact time a buyer cancelled
I'm trying to find out the exact time a buyer cancelled an order, and I cannot see how. Checked emails. Nothing there. Can you see this info?
Buyer ordered > I made up the order > bought shipping via Amazon
Now, I received a message from the customer asking for the tracking number. I happened to check the order first to see that it had been cancelled.
Now, I'm going to just mark his message as not needed, not actually post the item, request a postage refund, and move on, but something about this seems off.

Have you checked your messages, you normally get a message from Amazon requesting the cancellation, if the order was cancelled before it comes through to you as a confirmed order, then you can check in your cancelled orders tab in Seller Central.

If you had the address to make a label, then you'd have to have been the one to cancel the order.
The Buyer can only cancel without contacting the seller for that 30 minute window immediately after purchasing during which Amazon hasn't made the Buyer's information available to the seller.

Hi CbyJD,
The only order I had a cancellation request for recently was advised to me by email from Amazon Seller Central Notifications and headed Order cancellation request for order ID: but there was nothing in the Amazon Messages.
Is it possible that Customer services marked the order cancelled in error from a request by a different Customer/Order Number?

I think its already been clarified that if you had the address to actually process the order, the only person that could have cancelled the order is you.
Note that if you cancelled the order but the customer had not provided an official Order Cancellation Request - then this will have hit your Pre-Fulfillment Cancellation Metric.
You can check Cancelled Orders and those where the customer has requested a cancellation after the first 30 mins of the order being placed will be marked in Yellow.
A customer requesting a cancellation will also trigger an email as well, if you haven't unsubscribed from getting them (though I'm unsure if you actually can do that)
If you have cancelled the order - then yes, don't post the item, request a postage refund and move on - but I don't believe there is anything off about this.

Thanks everyone. Finally got to the bottom of this. He'd placed two orders but cancelled one. When getting in touch, it was the order ID for the cancelled order which was showing to me.
