Royal Mail Click and Drop Integration with Royal Mail OBA - Flaky or is it me?
Very curious about others’ experience of Click and Drop integration with a Royal Mail Online Business account (pay at end of month).
I’m a Pro seller, but still selling fairly low volumes Fulfilled By Merchant (I also sell via FBA and on my own website and “the auction site”).
I’d been using the Royal Mail Click and Drop Integration with the “Personal” payment account (pay as you go with PayPal).
Very happy with it, I’d almost stopped going into Amazon Seller Central every day as it seemed to be totally competent at pulling the orders from Amazon to Click and Drop, and then updating Amazon as Shipped, and adding Tracking information.(on all EU Amazon - .co.uk, .de,.fr, .it, .es)
So I looked at how many items I was shipping and it seemed I was just at the point where a Royal Mail Online Business Account would make financial sense.
Since I moved from the Royal Mail personal to the business account, oh my.
The Amazon integration, or some aspect of it, seems flaky as hell.
I’ve actually sent my Amazon UK orders out with stamps from the Post Office counter most of last week and this. I’ve had to manually create postage for EU orders on Click and Drop by cutting and pasting address information.
I have tried “update” in my Click and Drop Integrations. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.
I have gone through the process of completely deleting all integration connections at the Royal Mail and Amazon ends and recreating them.Several times.
I can’t spend time every day checking, recreating connections and then cross-checking in Amazon Seller Central…
Actually my Website and the auction site integration still seems to work very well.
Does anyone have similar experience? Any tips? Royal Mail Support has not got back to me so far.
Is this just how it (doesn’t) “works” at the moment?

Can’t say I have ever had any problem with C&D and OBA. All orders pull through from Amazon fine. I mark them as dispatched manually so can’t comment from that aspect but have never had orders missing or had to cut and paste addresses?

Have you connected each Amazon marketplace separately?

The only problem I had was not realising that you need to connect to each marketplace separately, as I hadn’t done that but, when I did that, I’ve not had a problem since. I still check them all against the Seller Central (as I need to print the delivery notes in any case from there), but I’ve not had a single issue since I integrated all marketplaces a year ago.
If you’re having problems, the Click and Drop Helpline on 0845 266 1004 has been very helpful to me in the past.

Never really had any issues, apart from the Click and Drop app being slow from time to time

I really appreciate everyone’s input - seems it is just “me”, so it’s worth looking into further with Royal Mail.
Thing is, the integrations dashboard LOOKS fine - every link is green.
So I’ve spoken to the phone helpline, and as far as they can see it IS fine!
But orders are sitting on Amazon uncollected by C+D. Sometimes a link appears to work for a bit (hours), then stops working.
I did email the customer help - a ticket was raised, but no answers yet.
I will post on the https://clickanddrop.uservoice.com/ as suggested by Eureka_Jack.
Might have to be patient over Easter I s’pose
I will report back, in case someone finds this thread in the future.

Hi again,
If your website and bay site works correctly with RM C & D.
Then it must be the mapping between Amazon & RM.
- Is your ‘user permission’ (settings>user permissions>Third Party App) disabled or needs to be renewed
- Does it show - RM Click & Drop active

I am having no problems with Click and Drop integration, it all works perfectly including sending despatched information.
One thing I have thought is it is very hard to tell exactly what each item costs to post.
You can only get “manifested” costs unless you go into your OBA.
I have found it is cheaper to send tracked post by using Royal mail website than Click and Drop.
The website does not charge VAT whereas Click and Drop does, for tracked packages.

Thanks!
Yep,
I’ve moved from Firefox to Chrome for RM Click & Drop. Seems alright so far.
I believe Chrome is the recommended browser for Click & Drop (must’ve read it somewhere).
That was never ever mentioned by Support staff. (Worth knowing, if anyone’s ever reading this thread!)
Mine is not to reason why, I just need it to work so I can get on with my business.
