I am a small business handmade seller based in Sweden, registered under the handmade seller program in the UK due to the unavailability of this option in Sweden. Last month (March), I received notification from Amazon indicating that I had been charged for a professional selling plan.I promptly contacted seller support to request a refund of the subscription fee, as I understand that handmade sellers are not required to pay a monthly fee.
However, my request was denied on the grounds that I had utilized professional selling tools and benefits. In my view, as a participant in the handmade program, I should not be subjected to monthly fees. The process of adding products should remain consistent across all marketplaces, particularly in Sweden, where I am based. When accessing the "add products" feature, I expect to be guided in accordance with the terms of the handmade program. It is unclear to me how I could have inadvertently selected a professional selling plan over the handmade program.
If I decide to switch my seller account to an individual plan to avoid these fees, will I lose my status as a handmade seller? I am deeply concerned about the financial burden imposed by these charges, especially considering that I have not generated significant sales to cover these expenses. As a small business owner, I rely on platforms like Amazon to reach customers and grow my business. However, the unexpected charges and lack of clarity regarding the appropriate selling plan are causing undue stress and financial strain.I urge Amazon to reconsider their policies regarding charging handmade sellers for professional selling plans. It is essential for platforms to support and facilitate the growth of small businesses, rather than imposing financial barriers that hinder our ability to thrive.I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to a resolution that is fair and equitable for handmade sellers like myself.
Thank you in advance for all help
