Getting charged by UPS for collection

Hi,

I always create shipments using Amazon Partnered Carrier, but this time, apparently the tracking numbers generated resulted in UPS charging me £2.75 for collection.

I have never faced this before and I thought collection charges were always included by Amazon.

Has there been any change? Anyone know why this collection charge is being applied? I asked UPS and they said, since tracking number is provided by Amazon, check with them.

This will result in significantly higher shipping charges, so want to understand if this is a permanent change?

Same happened to us this morning. Sent 3 consignments yesterday which were ok - Tracking numbers started 1ZA1Y48868 as normal, todays consignment started 1Z59A.
Problem has been reported elsewhere but no resolution yet.

Got the below from Seller Support - as expected, not really helpful at all. Will try the workaround suggested and hope Amazon rectifies this given it seems this issue is quite widespread. Thank god for this forum. You guys have been super helpful.

Hello from Amazon Selling Partner Support,

We understand that you have queries regarding the collection charges and please allow me to assist you.

In response to your concern, the collection charges are applied when you use the Amazon Partnered Carrier to deliver your shipment and they are the inbound transportation charges or the Delivery charges or the Shipping charges which are based on the dimensions and weight of the parcels or pallets, the address from which the shipment originated and the destination fulfilment centre. The estimated cost of these charges will be subject to adjustment if Amazon or the carrier determines that the actual weight or dimensions of the package are different from the weight or dimensions provided by you.

Hi all,

To help prevent confusion and effort for everyone I would ask that you keep your comments to the following thread: Ups gone from £3.60 to £44! whats happened? and I will close this one.

I am currently looking into this and will update the above thread with any information I receive.

Thanks,
Jessica
