Customer Credit Card no longer valid and they want a refund
Hi -
Must customer wants a refund but their credit card is no longer valid.
What should they do? If I refund the product after they put in a new card will the refund go to the new card or will Amazon try to refund the old card?
Not sure what to tell buyer....
Suggestions would be appreciated.
THanks

It is not your problem. If they require a refund then you just refund them.
Where the money goes is not your problem and they should ask Amazon customer services what happens as they handle all payment issues.
Thr correct response here is to tell them to contact Amazon customer services

Their card company will tie up the old card with the new. Refunds always go back to the original payment method due to money laundering laws - their card company will sort it out. It's not your problem. Just refund them

We come across this quite a bit.
We just advise that the bank card is linked to a sort code and account number. If a new card is generated then the funds are still going to that account. If they have any further questions, Amazon Customer Services are on hand for clarity.
You have no power over where the payment goes. Just keep yourself right and refund regardless and let Amazon explain the rest to the customer.

Presumably they contacted you because they were looking for an alternative route for the refund, maybe off-Amazon?
That would be a big no-no.
Best tell them to let Amazon deal with it, as others have advised..
