Product compliance documentation request

We’ve had a request for product compliance documentation on one of our listings. This is not a toy, and we’ve been selling on this listing for several years. This is the first time this sort of request has occurred. We were just wondering what may occur if we try to appeal this request. Has anyone had experience with taking that course of action. Would this have come about because a customer has made a comment somewhere? Or would it have come directly from Amazon? Thanks for any help.
