Sales way down on this time last year.

My sales both FBA and FBM over the last 2 months are 40% down on this time last year, is anyone else finding this dramatic drop. I have 100% buy box on the majority of my listings.

By the way, this forum is not half as good as it used to be, eg, there isn't a category to fit this post, I wonder why?

Hi @Seller_0lQP368tpx7Wc,

Sorry, but asking if others have seen a similar drop might not help much—some sellers will report similar issues, while others might see improvements. Plus, sellers with no problems are usually less active here, so responses tend to skew toward those facing challenges.

To really understand what’s happening, you’ll need to analyze what’s changed over time at both the account and product levels.

1. Check Reports > Business Reports > By Date > Sales and Traffic:

  • Has your offer count dropped?
  • Is traffic (sessions) down?
  • Have prices gone up (lowering conversions)?
  • Calculate conversion rate: Units Ordered / Sessions

2. For product-level details, go to: Detail Page Sales and Traffic by Child Item

  • Compare data from the last 4 weeks with the same time last year.
  • Import both into Excel and use a pivot table to spot which products are up or down.

You can also look at PPC performance—subtract PPC sales from total sales to evaluate organic performance and see how the mix has shifted.

Another reason for a drop is econmic situation in the UK

Consumers have been reining spending after the recent Budget on 30th October which has hit a lot people. Extra tax on business has also made people unsure if they keep their job after so many business announcing staffing cuts or recruitment freeze.

Germany and France are also both in a recession.

I think it depends a lot on what you sell, I had a bad October but things improved from the day of the budget. now I am 58% up from last month and 24% up from last year. But I send relatively less parcels and more LLs, it looks like people are still buying but spending less and also a few sellers that were competing with me for the BBs on several products have since vanished which probably explains part of the growth in sales.
