Hello,
Over the past six months, we’ve experienced significant delays with LTL shipments sent via Amazon's preferred carriers. Transit and check-in times at fulfillment centers have routinely exceeded one month.
To put this in perspective, it takes us less time to ship full containers from Asia to the Port of Los Angeles or Long Beach and have them checked in at our 3PL warehouse in Southern California.
Meanwhile, these delays have led to growing stockouts, resulting in lost sales, lost revenue, and a declining Inventory Performance Index (IPI).

Amazon notes that shipments may take up to 10 days to move from "In Transit" to "Checked In" status after delivery—possibly longer during peak periods.
If this estimate holds, the total transit and check-in timeline from pickup to full receipt would be approximately 1.5 months.
This poses a serious challenge for us. Due to the handmade nature of our products, production alone takes over 90 days. Shipping to the U.S., customs clearing and delivery to our 3PL adds another 5–6 weeks. Factoring in current FBA check-in delays, we’re effectively looking at a minimum six-month lead time from the start of production to inventory being sellable on Amazon.
During such unpredictable times, accurate demand forecasting becomes incredibly difficult.
We would welcome any guidance or insights from Amazon or fellow sellers on how to manage or mitigate these extended lead times.
