Optimum Stock Levels (FBA)

Good evening fellow sellers,

just a quick one....

What would people say is the optimum level of stock to have per product? What's a solid number that will , more than likely, mean that the product will be available nationally as a prime option? I understand this is a difficult question to answer due to so many variables. Amazon obviously work out which fulfilment centres are more likely to generate a sale depending on the product etc, but is there a certain figure sellers should aim to send in, so Amazon can spread the stock around the country? I just have a feeling I may not be sending enough stock in at the moment ( I send on average around 50 units per ASIN ) and look to replenish at around a stock count of 10-15 units remaining.

Reasons I don't send too much in are mainly because of the time and effort it takes to make/pack certain products, whilst working full time elsewhere. Also there is the storage fees aspect, not all my products fly out the door. So you see my interest in the matter, i'm sure every product has a different optimum sales potential level, and i guess its just trial and error in some cases. To hear peoples opinions on what numbers they believe have been successful for them would be most interesting.

Thanks for reading, any feedback will be much appreciated.

Joe

Hello @Seller_W7dtcI3T5Mq26,

I'm Sarah with Amazon.

This is a complex topic, and there isn't a one-size-fits-all answer.

Here are some threads where sellers have shared their experiences and insights:

How much stock to send?

How much stock should I have in my FBA inventory?

I'd also like to invite other sellers to join the discussion and share their perspectives!

Regards,

Sarah.
