Hi All
I sell many books far more competitively than others but struggle in to win the Buybox. I know they factor in price, feedback score (I think), delivery speed, quantity available.
As a example I am £5 cheaper than anyone else on one particular book, I have 7 copies available. I am not the fastest on shipping (3 to 5 days) this is because as sales have been painfully slow for sometime if I were to offer day day shipping I would be running to the Post Office with a few books each day so I prefer to allow a build up to warrant the trip.
I am a standard Marketplace seller. So my question is does a non Prime fulfilled marketplace seller stand any chance of winning the buy box if they shipped faster & was the best price or is it always going to come down to being Prime?
Hope someone knows.
TIA
Prime itself has not been a factor for a few months now - Amazon changed the algorithm earlier this year due to complaints.
We sell books, & have a Royal Mail pick-up every day. Some books arrive next day; some take 4 or 5 days - so Prime is not an option as you cannot guarantee delivery time (what Amazon quaintly call your 'promise'). As for the buy box I cannot begin to understand the algorithms that run it. I have seen Mersea get the buy box for their overpriced & non-existent stock.
