Is FBA worth it?

Hello,

I recently started selling 7 months ago on Amazon. I have been pleased with the amount of sells in the last 7 months.

Anyways I keep getting calls from Amazon people trying to get me to start doing FBA. I curious if it is worth it.

A little about my business I only sell stuff over $100. My goal is to make a 20% profit after fees and shipping. Right now I keep my amazon inventory at my brick and mortar retail location. Every Friday I place an order with my distributors to replenish the inventory sold that week.

One item I'm really curious about is a remote. It cost me $60.26 and I sell it for $150.00. I have my own listing and another seller has a listing for the same remote. His price is $155.00 but he sponsored it so his listing shows up first. When I search the remote, it says he sold more than 50 in the last month. I have only sold 8 in the last 30 days. Both of us are selling them with FBM. It cost me $.56 for the shipping box and shipping is $4.00-$5.00.

Just curious if it would be worth doing FBA and sponsoring my listing, I would love to be selling 50+ a month also!!

Thanks, James

Hi @Seller_MJgdOXeFNpwgT,

Thank you for reaching out on the Seller Forums!

Great question here. Now since I'm not personally a seller, I don't have insights from a seller's perspective on FBA. I'm definitely eager for other sellers to jump in here and share their thoughts and experiences with you!

That said, I did want to send over a couple resources that I think will be helpful for you as you're thinking through your options:

I hope this helps! If you have any additional questions or need further assistance along the way, please don't hesitate reaching out.

All the best,

Jameson
