Selling in multiple Amazon countries
Hi! Has anyone faced problem with ASIN number over multiple countries?
I have created listing in German Amazon and trying to add the same listing to other countries but Amazon shows error message about ASIN number.
When trying this search couldn’t even find corresponding number:
- Sign in to Seller Central.
- Go to Catalogue and then select Add products .
- Search for the item that you want to sell.
- In the search results, click Listing limitations apply next to the relevant item.
- Click Request approval to begin the application process.
I’m trying to sell books that our organization has written and published.

Does your book have an ISBN (International Standard Book Number)? If so, you should be using that to list it. ASINs are only generally used on the Amazon catalogue (and nowhere else - they are Amazon Standard Identification Numbers) for items that don’t have an ISBN or EAN (the equivalent for non-book goods)
If you supplied details of the book to the ISBN agency that issued the number (Nielsen in the UK) , they will probably have uploaded the information to Amazon and you don’t have to create your own listing - just add your stock in your inventory by typing in the ISBN and filling in your price etc on the form that will appear
Not at all sure why you are being asked to click on “Listing limitations apply” but having done so I suspect that’s why you then need to “Request approval”, because you will have told Amazon that there are restrictions on the sale of that item

Many thanks for the effort. I’m already doing it - listing items as a non listed on Amazon, but still system somehow checks ISBN number and shows ASIN error.
Where can I add extra details for books?
