Book Order

I have received an email from Amazon asking me to dispatch a book that has been sold to a customer in Spain. I do not see how this is possible because I have not sold paperback books on Amazon for almost one year now. Amazon removed my right to sell because they wanted me to send books tracked and signed. My account had a 100% record until this new ruling came in.
So I have no idea how I have a sale in Spain when my books are no longer for sale as paperbacks on Amazon.

I very much doubt they said that. They almost certainly said that you needed to comply with the VTR policy (valid tracking rate) policy - which does not state everything has to be sent tracked and signed, it states that if you do send tracked, the tracking must be valid from an integrated carrier and booked into Amazon correctly.

It is still perfectly acceptable, if you wish, to send orders untracked you just mark those orders as dispatched using stamps/franking as the method and they will not be factored in your VTR statistics.

As to Spain, did you have any listings on other marketplaces like Spain, or another EU marketplace - that didn’t get turned off when you stopped selling books?

You do NOT have to send everything tracked - that is not what the VTR policy is all about and has been discussed ad nauseum on the many VTR threads since that metric was introduced.
For items valued less than approx. £20 then it is pointless.
If you read the VTR policy it will tell you that they will suspend sales in the category where your VTR drops, but it is perfectly possible to maintain a good VTR without sending items tracked.

Also, regarding Spain - the VTR metric ONLY applies to UK domestic sales, not overseas.
You maybe need to go and read carefully the policy.

Presumably you never closed your account and still have books for sale?

Can you get into your ‘manage inventory’ page on your Amazon seller account?

I frequently see books for sale from sellers who haven’t had any feedback for two or three years and I assume some of them at least are hijacked accounts but others are probably accounts the seller forgot they had and/or walked away from.

Hello @Paul_Sinclair_ILF1,

Have you contacted Seller Support and ask about this.
Probably it was a mistake.

Regards.
