Compliance requirements for silicone rings

I ordered silicone rings from china and ship to UK FBA store. Amazon is asking me about EIN number and VAT number. I know VAT is not required as my products are less than 1000 Pounds ( threshold is 85,000 pounds). But what is EIN number? Is there a compliance requirement for silicone rings?

I think you need to read up about VAT - it has nothing to do with the value of your goods, but with your accounting business turnover.
If your turnover (and that is not profit) is under £85,000 then you do not have to register for VAT if in the UK (though you can if it is financially sensible).
Are you UK based and only storing your goods in UK ?

Are you sure? This may be an issue then. The one time fee is 400 $ and monthly fee is $245 for VAT. This is not worth spending for an account size of 1000 $.

Where are you based? I think the EIN is USA. For UK, you need a EORI or VAT to import. Since you’re not VAT reg, apply on HMRC site for EORI number. It should arrive quite quickly.

No restrictions for import of silicone into UK that I know of. I have silicone products.

You need to put some effort into doing proper business research. I suggest you read the information on the UK government website, particularly sections 2.3 and 9:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/vat-notice-7001-should-i-be-registered-for-vat/vat-notice-7001-should-i-be-registered-for-vat

You may find these links useful, too:

If you haven’t obtained liability insurance, now would be a good time to do so. Amazon may require it, and you should have it anyway:
