Less exposure and reviews
Guys I’m venting but it’s starting to get on my nerves, so someone started selling bath bombs same time as me last year and they have 450 reviews whilst I have 20. How is this possible?!? They’re also number 1 in bath bombs ?!? Liek sure their brand looks professional but the bath bombs are really awful - they’re everything mine have improved on. Is there a company you you who can create brand images and photography ?

Maybe this?
There is likely 100 different reasons why they perform better on Amazon.
Maybe the lack of reviews you are getting says otherwise?

They got a lot of initial reviews out of using Vine and have a well presented product page with A+ content. Their images are high quality and make little obvious use of image editing Being number one in bath bombs and in the top 400 in beauty they are obviously selling at volume which means even if they get the same percentage reviews left they will have a larger total.
Their pricing seems competitive and are currently running a sale so they do use promotions too.
All of that aside, having a better product isn’t really enough to make it to the top. The music industry probably provides the best example of marketing over talent.

My own experience is that reviews do not make much of a difference. I have had best selling products number 1 in their sub category which have had no reviews against them at all. A lot of the time people do not place reviews.
Does the feedback reflect the fact that the bath bombs are awful or is this your opinion? If the feedback is mostly positive then maybe customers are happy with the bath bombs that they send out?
This is will help a lot and perhaps you need to look at what they are doing which you are not. If they are getting a higher sales ranking it suggests there are things you can learn from them.
There are many companies out there who will do professional photography for you. Whether this will improve your sales a lot is another question.

Just to note too that on your previous thread complaining about it you said
he’s got way more reviews than me and tbh his product is a lot worse, they’re tiny and the crystals aren’t even stuck on
And they have a 1 star non verified purchase a week later stating
These were extremely small so no scent or colour in the bath. Box is nice but the actual bath bombs are not. Mine came cracked and the crystals aren’t even stuck on so they spill out

Woo, get you with your “only” 20 reviews! I’ve got about 4 seller ratings after 14-ish months of selling (mostly Christmas-y things) on Amazon - and one of those was from a customer who gave me 1 star and said “sent it back” even though that wasn’t true!
…and yet somehow I made it to #1 rank in my sub-sub-sub-sub category over Christmas 2021 The upshot is that I’ve got no idea if most people even check ratings before they buy, and I’ve certainly got no idea what Amazon’s algorithms take into account.
But rather than worrying about other competitors, I’m concentrating on trying to beat my own stats from last year, instead. It seems to be working so far. So watch out for Christmas 2022, when I’m aiming to reach #1 in the sub-sub-sub category

I have similar with chinese competitors …Looks like they spend a fortune on pay per click sponsored products then get pushed up the list hence more sales more reviews

they have 450 reviews whilst I have 20. How is this possible?!?
They are number 1 in Bath Bombs probably selling in excess of 3000 units a month and from what I can tell you are 180 in category so maybe selling 50 to 80 a month
That’s how they are outstripping you in the review numbers

These type of “sellers” don’t deserve any help. I hate to see this - when genuine sellers has to compete with people with no social and intellectual skills for business. That’s why all marketplaces are such a mess nowadays

Just my personal opinion so don’t shoot the messenger, but personally if this was a product that I was interested in buying I would definitely without doubt go for your competitors option, based on the low price compared to your offer, the better laid out listing, the fact that your competitor is on prime, so I would get next day, and to be honest I find the product looks a lot nicer, I really like the look of theirs, but no so much yours.
Whilst I take on board your comments made on here, these would not change my mind, in this instance I don’t really think size matters, I don’t believe the crystals not being stuck on is a problem - after all you are just going to drop it in a bath, and they do appear to be in a recessed bowl, so they wont just fall off when you open it.
You may have a good product, but seriously work on your listing to improve the look and feel, study your competitors listing as theirs clearly works, and take some pointers from this. Clearly from the number of reviews they are outselling yours 20-1 so people love what they see.
As regards reviews themselves, do not get hung up on this, as others have stated they are not the main driver for your sales, the quality of your product, delivery times, and price are the most important aspects of this by a country mile. Rightly or wrongly you believe you have a wonderful product - your job is to convince others of this, and if you want to use thinks like made in UK as your USP, then you need be pushing this within the listing.
