Returns - dispose settings
Hi guys,
Quick question. How do we stop Amazon selling our product as Used? We are FBA sellers.
We don’t get many returns, but last year we managed to stop them reselling our product by asking Amazon to dispose all the returns. It worked.
This morning I’ve noticed one of our variations being available as Used, like new while being out of stock for this specific variation.
Main problem we have with it is that it would be very easy for an Amazon employee to not realise that one of the components is missing, which would prevent customer from installing the product resulting in easy negative review.
Buying your own products is against TOS, but how about buying it of it’s sold by Amazon Warehouse?
Thank you in advance everyone and have a good day.

Why not set them for return, rather than dispose?
It makes no difference to the cost and if you let them dispose of them, they can basically do what they want with them.

Hi Neil,
How would that work for FBA?
We don’t want Amazon to decide if product is complete/sellable.
Is it possible to set your business address for all returns (impossible for FBA I believe) or each time item is returned to Amazon an automatic removal order would be created shipping it back to us?
Thanks again, you help is much appreciated.

Hello again,
Yes, I meant a different address. We don’t have any FBM offers and products sold via FBA have very limited options available in regards to customer service and returns. Because of that all items must be returned to Amazon.
We want all returned items to be disposed, it doesn’t matter if it looks sellable or not (can’t trust Amazon in making this call) if these are the only two options.
Things like refused delivery or items not picked up from the lockers are ok to go back to stock and we think they do.
We do get an email every week as well, but this is to notify us of what has already been disposed.
How do we change it to a notification email with an option of creating a return to our business address so a member of staff can inspect it, replace any missing components and put it back on the next FBA shipment?
We would prefer this option due to items being worth £40-£50, rather than being thrown away or resold by Amazon.
Thank you Neil.

You need to go into settings> FBA and then disable ‘Furbishing settings’
Then underneath it you can enable removal of unsellable inventory automatically.
