I have reported for no reason!

Hello all,

I have a question about trademark and brand enrolment on Amazon.

So to summarise I bought around £10,000 worth of stock from a wholesaler/ manufacturer with the intention to sell on Amazon. I am only a small Business so this investment included a lot of personal money.

Anyway I was selling for around 2 months and then I kept getting reported for Trademark violations. In order to combat this I submitted the invoice from the manufacturer to show my items where genuine. I have been reported about 7 times for the same issue which I think is pretty ridiculous as all it does is remove my listing for 24hrs till I prove I am a genuine seller.

Once whoever was reporting me saw I wasn’t going to be removed from the listing I started to receive messages from the listing owner telling me I was in infringement of the brands trademark and that I would be reported, taken to court and they even threatened to buy all of my stock and destroy it and then charge me back.

I am now in fear of selling the remainder of my stock incase I get my account in trouble. I do not think I have done anything wrong however I am scared that as they are the listing owner amazon may side with them.

My question is am I in the wrong here? What more can I do to protect myself from this situation. Currently I have set all my listing to closed in order to prevent any further reports being made against my account but this is only a temporary measure.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, any questions are also welcomed!

I hate to say it, but why invest in a single line with so much money, for when your starting.
So many seem to do this, which is such a risky strategy, I find it very difficult to fathom.
Your far safer buying multiple different lines. Even if your spending the same amount of money.
They will also sell faster, rather than relying on a single line.

Assuming that you have been reported and managed to recover that, then Amazon obviously believe that your selling the correct item.
You have a problem competitor, which isn’t going to go away.

So that leaves you with trying to continue selling on the same listing, or selling off your stock and starting again. Look to Ebay/Onbuy/Facebook, wherever you can sell to shift the stock.

What is the brand name?

Who owns the trademark, the seller of the manufacturer?

Did you start your own listing under the manufacturers brand name or add to an existing listing?
