External Product ID

I am new to selling on Amazon (previously sold on Etsy) and I need help in uploading items that do not have an external product ID.

I sell home decor / accessories from wholesalers and from what I’ve read this can be excluded from external product IDs. But I have no idea of how to upload an item without the product ID. The forums just say follow the information on the listing but nothing comes up other than an error code.

Can someone please help me?!

If the items do not have a UPC/EAN barcodes on them then you can ask for GTIN exemption , or you will need to buy barcodes from GS1 - the only ones Amazon will accept - do not buy from any other source.
