Approval for Selling Laptop Chargers
I was wondering if anyone has any advice on my current issue please, I have absolutely no idea what to do next.
I’m applying for approval to sell laptop chargers. I have been through a number of iterations which I have been able to fix along the way, but this last one is stumping me, and I have no idea what is now required of me. I have supplied a Declaration of Conformity. Yesterday, I was told all that was wrong with it was that the title was Certificate of Conformity but that the standards were correct, so overnight I got my supplier to send me a new Declaration with the correct title. Everything else is still the same.
Today I have been rejected again because although I apparently comply with the basic standards on Declarations of Conformity (I can demonstrate compliance with the LVD and EMC with the correct directive numbers for these), I don’t pass the internal checks because I don’t show compliance with the EU Directive on Chargers. I’ve checked and there is no EU standard by this name. I have the correct number of the LVD, I have the ANSI EN standard with dates with it’s most recent update in 2013, I have the binding signature from the empowered person at my supplier, I have the product model number (which matches that on my product packaging photos and the product itself, and the declaration), and I have the name and address of the manufacturer.
Does anyone have any idea what on earth this Directive on Chargers is, or what it is these people want from me?! I might have some hope of demonstrating compliance with something if I had any idea what it was. All thoughts greatly appreciated at present.
