Is it worth to sell high priced items on Amazon?
Hi everyone,
I should start by clarifying that I am an experienced Amazon seller who makes a good living on this platform.
I currently only sell low priced items, part of the reason I do this is because it occurs to me that if I was to sell higher priced items then I am likely to have customers claiming refunds and not returning the items in decent condition or even the same item at all! Has anyone had any experience with selling items over £100? I’ve seen some items up to £3000 on the platform and I imagine that they lose a lot of money through refunds.
Id rather we don’t talk about the quality of the item in this thread, assume that the items are of top quality. Due to the returns system on this platform and the lack of support for sellers is it viable to sell higher priced items?
Thanks,

I spent about 1.5 years selling high ticket items. I only stopped, due to supply issues and would go back to them without a thought.
By high ticket, I am talking about items from £100 up to about £2k.
Yes, it’s worth it. However, I would be extremely wary of selling things like laptops etc as they are far too easy to “have issues” with…
But at the end of the day, it’s no different than selling cheaper items. As long as you price in for returns etc, it shouldn’t be an issue.
I have been caught by a customer going the A-Z route and do have some issues with the way Amazon treats things, but overall, the experience made money.
The main thing to consider, is how YOU feel about the risk.

Personally I would want greater reassurance about how Amazon deal with customers claiming non-delivery.
At the moment it seems that no evidence a seller can provide is enough to defend such a claim and they are far too easy to make. It’s annoying enough on a £10 item but for £100+ ones? No thanks.
