Customer scamming, put brick in parcel
Hey guys, so i’m currently being scammed for a product worth £150.
The customer claims that the product arrived and there was a brick inside it, as you can see from the picture he has removed the wrapping and placed the brick within the product.
My first thoughts are that if the brick was placed during shipping, then the inside contents would be destroyed, but the packaging of the product is in perfect condition with no marks, telling me that this was placed after the item was received. Notice the perfect white inside of the box, no marks.
What can i do ?

Where’s the pokemon come into it ?
What did you send them ?

I would ask them if they can put this on a scale and send you a photo, so you can compare with your proof of postage. I suspect they’ll say they can’t do that, so maybe if you can get a brick yourself to weigh an see the difference? I would imagine a brick would weigh a hell of a lot more than a pack of pokemon cards. As you also said, there’s no sign of damage on the box, and a brick would certainly have put a dent or 2 inside, plus no browny markings from the brick rubbing up against the cardboard. I don’t think Amazon will put all that into perspective, but hopefully if you can send a comparison of the weight it may help.

Ok, whilst I don’t doubt that you are completely honest here.
Did you pack it, or a member of staff?
When shipping, where there any issues at all?
Are the weights recorded?
You need to contact the courier and inform them of this.
You also need to contact the customer back and proceed as if they are telling the truth.
It’s not beyond the realms of possibility, that this has happend prior to it being received.
You need to let them know that a full investigation with RM, DPD etc is taking place and that they may contact them for further information. I would also mention that your reporting it to the police as obviously someone has stolen the item.
Then it’s a case of playing it by ear. If you play it right, and the customer is just a little guilty about it, you would be surprised how many times the son/wife/nephew was playing a joke on them…

Your are not having much luck I think it was only yesterday we were talking about a customer who claimed they received nothing in their parcel that you sent to Italy.
As others stated you will have the weight that this parcel was sent with. If a brick was put in when you posted it then it would have been a fairly heavy parcel. A brick weighs around 3KG which is significantly higher than some Pokemon cards. Check how much the parcel weighed when it was despatched and this is proof that the item was not sent as such.
Then just challenge the customer but don’t say you don’t believe them. Ask them if the box was tampered with and say that you will contact the courier to discuss the matter as it appears the item was tampered with in the post. They may well back down at this stage and come up with an excuse as to what happened

I’m for the most part a builder and that brick would have destroyed the packaging during shipping beyond belief, you are quite correct when you mention not a mark on the packaging and I truly believe that a judgement through the small claims court would go your way just on that evidence (although yes of course I’m no lawyer but have been there a few times and done that).
Actually I don’t think it is a brick, the top bit is either a broken part of a brick or a broken roof tile, either way they are trying it on as the packaging would be a mess.
I don’t know what your best foot forward is but I just couldn’t take the hit on that.
