Amazon changed category of two private labelled products
I desperately need some help with this issue.
Amazon (or a competitor maybe) changed a category of two of my items. The sale therefore has dropped to almost zero. Both product had quite a good rating in their original category and now dropped significantly in the rating.
I sent an email to Amazon seller support and they have rejected my request to change it back to original category where my product was ranked 12th. Their response was that “This product is assigned to the current category based on the detail page and how Amazon customers find products through search and browse”
Both products were under the previous category for about a year now and there was no issue until now. Has anyone else faced this issue and did you manage to fix it? A help would be much appreciated.

Only Amazon can change a category now but if they wont then there isn’t anything you can do I’m afraid.

This is a joke because I have a huge order arriving from my supplier next month and the way the sales are going now after this category change, I will not be able to sell even 10% of my stock in a year. There must be a way out of this. I sold hundreds of my product at loss initially to earn good ranking and then suddenly this happens which means my effort of about a year has just gone wasted and costed me thousands of $$$.

Same happened to us. However, all our competitors still in the previous category, so I don’t understand how come our product category changed based on based on the detail page and how Amazon customers find products through search and browse!!
Anyway, I created a couple of cases with no success, so I most probably going to give up on this issue.
