We are a startup and we are stuck in Amazon Brand Registry

Dear Amazon Support Team:

We made a really cool product that we wanted to sell on Amazon and Walmart.

We successfully registered our brand with Walmart.

When we registered our brand on Amazon, we were stuck here for 3 months.

When we click to register your brand,System prompt:The application of brand trytogo is currently under review.

We received a rejection message, but the content of the message does not seem to be readable by humans. There are too many reasons for rejection, and we cannot know the specific reason for the rejection.

What do we need to do to pass the brand registration? Thank you!

"There are too many reasons for rejection, and we cannot know the specific reason for the rejection."

They will NEVER tell you exactly, but this one gives a pretty good roadmap since there are so many references to OTHER ACCOUNTS that have had problems.

Do you have or in the past did you have other accounts that were sanctioned for any reason? Have any of your emails or bank accounts been linked to other accounts? Did you ever let someone else use one of your credit cards for purchases, OR did you purchase something and have it sent to someone else as a gift and THEY had an Amazon Seller account?

If you have opened any cases provide a number so any MOD that happens to drop by can look it over to see if they can help.

Without a case number in the posts it wastes time for everyone. I no longer tag anyone if there is no case #.

They have to ask for it and then wait for a reply from the poster and then the poster has to wait again for the MOD to find the case, and then more waiting.………….…

BUT, it’s a weekend and all the MODS are off partying 😁😁 so it may be early next week before you hear back! Actually, they are short staffed (on purpose) on weekends because Amazon doesn’t think anything bad happens then!

They name many possible reasons. If you don't have any open issues with deactivated account, former account, related account I bet it's your lawfirm.... many of them are blacklisted by Amazon. Unfortunately I don't know how you can find out if this is the case. Do some research on Google. OR use Amazon's IP accelerator.

Hi there @Seller_azQRsaRvfVuOr

Just to provide a little background, Amazon and Walmart are completely separate entities and I imagine have different guidelines when registering brands.

Secondly, I took a look at your appeal and typically when sellers receive the same messaging that you did, it could mean 2 things:

  1. The seller themselves has engaged in abusive conduct
  2. The trademark/brand is abusive.

For 1. If sellers have been selling for awhile, some sellers will have Account Health metrics they will need to work on, or have other selling accounts they opened in the past/present that in bad standing. (deactivated, terminated, not meeting account health metrics, unresolved claims, etc.)

If you are a new seller and do not fall under all things listed in 1, the reason for decline could be for reason 2.

For 2. Trademark reason, if sellers are working with an attorney or agent that violates United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) rules and policies, this will prevent you from enrolling in Brand Registry.

If you’re working through an intermediary, rather than directly with a U.S. licensed attorney, to seek a U.S. trademark registration or enrollment into Brand Registry, your application may be subject to additional investigation by Amazon and the USPTO.

Please check whether your attorney is a subject to an Order for Sanctions from the USPTO or listed on Potentially Misleading Solicitations. If you’re concerned about the validity of your application or the conduct of involved parties, please consult with a new private U.S. attorney to review your application.
