Amazon received more items than I sent?

Hi everyone,

I sent a shipment to Amazon FBA with 3 different SKUs, with 6, 5 and 3 of the different products. However, 2 days ago the items moved into receiving, and my SKU that i sent 6 items of now says that 7 have been received, and are available for sale. I know this is incorrect as I received them from the manufacturer as 6 units, all boxed seperately. I believe that one of the other SKUs could’ve been mixed up with this one as the others still have a few still left to be fully received into the system. What is my best course of action? Am I able to sell the SKU with 7 items as they are very high value and will strain my cashflow for a while if they don’t sell, or do I wait until the reconciliation date and then investigate them. For now, I’ve put the other 2 SKUs up for sale, but the other one is currently not for sale. Is this the correct procudure? If a customer receives the wrong product due to the misidentification by amazon of the SKUs I sent, does amazon admit fault and refund myself and the buyer?

Any insight or experience with problems or situations such as this is appreciated, thank you

It is more likely that they have simply scanned one unit twice. I’ve had it happen a few times with no negative consequence for me as a seller. Generally they spot it themselves, but other times if all 7 units gets ordered then one sale gets cancelled by Amazon once they realise there are none left.

I’ve actually had the situation, where several hundred extra have been received.
It does usually sort itself out anyway.
But all you can do, is wait until your able to reconcile the shipment and then do so.

This month I’ve had one box showing that -4 units were received (highly unlikey, because my shipping boxes can fit an exact number of units in them so I’d notice if even one unit was missing) … but then another box is showing that +4 units were received (impossible!!).

I’m not a detective, but I suggest that maybe I counted correctly and Amazon’s operatives got a bit mixed up somewhere?

For future reference, is there a good way for sellers to ensure that shipments are reconciled correctly once the reconciliation process is available? (e.g. taking photos (or even videos) of the shipments as they’re being packed? Or - as @NEil says - do most queries sort themselves out anyway, eventually?
