irrelevant Expiration Date
For several days, I’ve been dealing with an incorrect expiration date requirement on my product. My product is neither consumable nor cosmetic nor something which expires with time. So this attribute of expiration is completely irrelevant. However, it appears as an option every time I try to create a shipping plan.
I raised a case with Seller Support (ID: 16653745011), but every follow-up has led to the same response: "the internal team is reviewing." This issue should be obvious to resolve, as it has no basis in reality. My product is already manufactured and ready to be shipped, yet it’s being delayed unnecessarily, which feels like an ongoing barrier rather than support. Moreover, I have to pay penalties to my manufacturer in the form of storage fees due to this error from Amazon’s end.
As a new seller, I have invested significant time and resources into this, and I’m reconsidering my plans with Amazon due to these avoidable obstacles.

Hi @Seller_Me1UzYxhJCujD
If you used a flat file to create your listings and still have it, check for columns related to product expiration or perishability, such as:
- is_expiration_dated_product
- product_expiration_type
- fc_shelf_life
- contains_food_or_beverage
The actual names of these attributes might differ depending on your product category.
Regardless of whether a flat file was initially used to create the listing, you can download the most recent flat file template for your product category. By overwriting these attributes through a partial update, you may be able to resolve the issue.
If you're not familiar with flat files, keep in mind that an incorrectly filled flat file can harm your listing. It's often a good idea to test an update with a single product before applying it to others.

I've always wondered what the purpose of that Shipment BIUB date even is. It only goes on the shipping label. If you're packing multiple SKUs per shipping box, that label is discarded and the information associated with it is not stored in any way, so it seems very pointless.

Hey @Seller_Me1UzYxhJCujD,
Welcome to selling on Amazon! I came across your thread and wanted to research this further. It looks like Seller Support was able to correctly reflect that this is a non-expiry date item, and update the information. Can you confirm that the issue no longer persists for you?
Also - feel free to reply to me here directly if you run into any other issues in the future!
