Buyer returned empty box, Amazon requires photo of serial number of missing item for claim.
I can file a SAFE-T claim, but what is the best way of requesting the customer send me a photo of the serial number of the item they stole? Amazon won't let me proceed without it.

Most things that happen around here are lessons in what to do and not to do. Going forward, take pictures next to the shipping label, 1 showing item condition, one showing serial number, both with shipping label.
You will not get that serial number from the recipient, why would they

You're supposed to know that before you ship it to the customer.
I take it that the number is not on the box?
Maybe write N/A there to proceed?

What we have been doing for years now, most of items comes with unique serial numbers, when creating shipping labels, we include the serial numbers of this product, so even when it is swapped we know.

I had to deal with. similar situation last month and got my claimed paid. My buyer ended up returning two used and broken items. So he basically stole the items I sent. It’s important to have your return process documented. Write to the buyer saying thanks I received your box however you did not send anything back. I see what you are trying to do you will be reported to Amazon. See what they say but engage them. Take pics of the box. Since I had a similar product I got the serial number off of those. Hope this helps. Amazon keeps track of repeat offenders and I’m told they get deactivated after so many fraudulent returns. So that’s satisfying to hear.
