Can't add a product to my inventory
I’ve just reopened my seller account after a few years of inactivity and I find that I can’t add inventory. I see this ambiguous error,
“You’re currently unable to add or edit listings because either the credit card on file is invalid or the credit card is in the process of validating, which could take up to 24 hours. Please ensure that you have a valid credit card uploaded in Account Settings.”
I waited for a day and then tried again and I still see the same error today. After various failed attempts to find out how to raise a case scenario I’m posting here in case someone can shed some light on this.
I’ve debit cards listed on my amazon account before reopening a seller account, are they shared with my seller account? They are certainly not invalid, although I did remove a card yesterday that I stopped with my bank previously.
I today had to accept some terms and conditions. Does that restart the 24 hour wait?
The error message doesn’t tell me exactly what the problem is and the UI doesn’t offer me any way to raise a help ticket as far as I can see. So far, it’s all pretty disappointing.

If you removed your original card, then you don’t have any charge method set right now.
Having a valid charge method on file is one of the conditions of having a Seller Account on Amazon.
Try adding a new card to your account to see if this gets fixed.
Here you can review the full list of credit card requirements for Seller Accounts on Amazon:
Check with the financial institution to confirm your credit card meets the following criteria:
- Adequate credit available.
- No limitations on internet or mail order charges.
- Is not a ‘prepaid’ card.
- Chargeable in the currency of the Amazon marketplace where you registered your seller account.
Following this, it can take up to 24 hours for Amazon to validate the card once you updated it.
