Shipping to Germany
We have an order for 4 items to be shipped to Germany. The total cost is under 150EUR however Amazon has not provided us with an IOSS number (when it has in the past) Has anyone any ideas why? It is to a business customer I wondered whether this was the issue? If so I am at a complete loss what to do. I am happy to pay the duty for the customer but cant navigate around this!

It being to a business customer is probably the reason. Business customers don’t pay VAT to Amazon, so nothing has been taken for Amazon to remit, so their IOSS hasn’t been used for that transaction.
@MonkeyBoy is it you who has had to use your own IOSS number for these type of shipments to get around it?

Thank you for your response:) Amazon actually responded and yes it is the business customer bit. We managed to sort it by using a 3rd party shipping company and we have paid the duty etc.
Thanks again

Actually, there is a further problem. So the couriers (trans global) have just called to say we must have the recipient’s EORI number on the package. They have had loads of rejected parcels from German customs. We don’t have the buyers EORI number, we have sent them a message but whether they read it or not is another matter! The alternative suggestion by trans global is for them to supply a residential address.
I wonder whether Amazon are going to address this.

We have the same issue today. A German business customer, but we need their VAT and EORI number otherwise we can’t dispatch it.
I’m messaging the customer, but don’t hold out much hope we will get a response.

Good luck! We did actually get them to provide their EORI number. It was suggested to us by trans global to get a residential address, then it might have been ok.
