Read onlySo we changed our prime RM collection time to 4.30pm, so that gave us an order cut off time of 4pm. Thems the new rules so we did it.
Had a new order placed at 3.07pm, it appeared in the Manage Orders and an email came at 3.37pm. So it should have told us to dispatch it today, under the settings and new rules. It said dispatch by 1st July (tomorrow)!
So we sent it today, just in case it was a trap
When Amz set the 2pm cut-off point before, it was really 1pm order cut-off, plus 30 minutes cooling off, so 1.30pm when the order was received. Then you have time to pick it, pack it, etc.
I asked Amz yesterday (SFP Team in Ireland) and said about this, as if 4pm + 30 mins cooling off = 4.30pm, but DPD can come at 4.30pm, that means no time to pick/pack, etc.
She said they wondere the same and no reply from high up, so said wait to see (and it may change as she said DPD and RM had not resolved all new collection times yet).
Who now has Sunday collections confirmed btw?
what time is the saturday cut off meant to be? I have asked them for clarification - but no response given.
I changed mine a couple of weeks ago to see how it would affect volume as RM threatening to make collection earlier in my area, it would appear that any orders placed not in the shipping queue by 3:30pm have a dispatch date of the following day, the latest one I have had was yesterday which landed in my shipping queue at 15:50 with a dispatch date of 01/07/2021 but that was an item which went out of stock and I placed the delivery date as 01/07/2021 and changed it to yesterday as soon as it arrived to I guess it depends when that order was actually added to basket, I won’t have an indication today as despite ordering my normal 2 weeks worth + 25% they all sold out by 11pm last night.
I have arranged the Sunday collection with DPD 12.30 collection but the RM will not do anything to help regarding this as I have changed our Prime shipping template to DPD only but I’m sure this will cause problems in the future for order regions not covered by DPD but hey ho see how it goes, if it does not work then back to controlling my own business non prime
We’ve changed our daily collection time with DPD, but our local depot don’t offer collections on a Saturday and we’re not open on Sundays. They’ve said we can drop the parcels to the depot, but none of the staff drive!
Another Amazon hoop to jump through without proper guidance.
We’ve presently got our weekday set to 3pm just to see what’s going to happen. We already do weekends so that’s already compliant for us.
I am however currently not able to access the shipping settings due to a “technical error” so maybe the changes are rolling out now?
Yes, as I said our settings are 4.30pm pick up and 4.00pm cut off, but it cut us off yesterday for SFP at 3pm, which is the time it has given us for our non Prime!
Will have to see what happens today, but haven’t had a sale today yet, very slow.
I personally think we should be able to disable Prime badge on Friday and turn it back ON, on Sunday to avoid weekend collection. I don’t see anyting wrong with that since customers will know they won’t receive it next day.
I am trying to change our shipping settings to include a Saturday collection and change the cut off time for orders - all to no avail as the message I keep getting is they are having technical issues. I have to assume their system is in overload with lots of us trying to do the same. Has anyone else had this issue?
I am not sure why Prime is still eabled for many of us but that’s a different and probably only short term question. It is bound to go soon.
Moreover, the reasoning and conditions behind all this do seem to be straighforward. It very much seems like Amazon no longer want the large volume of SFP sellers and have set the conditions in such a way as to ensure a high percentage of sellers cannot meet the requirement.
If this wasn’t the goal then they would have allowed sellers to set their SFP working hours and only offered Prime access during those times. It has been clear, as we use Royal Mail, that Amazon has been limiting the Prime badge on our items from Friday-Sunday. I believe this has been due to the delivery promise. Also, they know most Royal Mail users will not be able to get the later collection or weekend collection. They control Amazon Shipping, so can effectively decide who they want on Prime and who they do not.
I think it is the end of the line for SFP unless you have a very significant throughput of orders.
