Cant get verified, shall I give up?

Hey guys, I have messaged here before taken everything on board but still can’t get verified.

It’s seriously affecting me now because I just wanted to get my foot in the door but can’t even do that seeing as Amazon has awful customer service with no one to speak to.

I set up to sell as an individual (no, not a sole trader, nor a business an INDIVIDUAL). I say this because users used to bash me for this but it’s besides the point - I still can’t get verified.

I have given everything I have. I have a UK Driving Licence, Passport, Mobile Bill and Bank Statement.

I don’t pay utilities like gas or electric - I currently live with my mother and pay her separately, not officially and on documentation.

Everything in terms of info is all the same. My name, my address etc.

There are some files that say ‘Flat 9’ instead of ‘9’. Can this make a difference?
How would I even change this? Tell my bank ‘Hey can you change ‘Flat 9’ to ‘9’ and send a copy of my statement through?’ Seems ridiculous for something so trivial.

I can’t even double check my personal details as it doesn’t let me view them because I’m not verified yet I mean come on!

Can I delete and wipe out absolutely everything related to my Amazon account and start over in the future? I know people say that will lead to more problems, but what else do I do?

I literally can’t do anything!

Please help me out here, I’m looking at you The_Little_Shop

yes it can

your postman may know that there is no Flat 9 on the street but just a number 9 , but amazon won’t

your passport, driving licence and your bank statement and utility bill all must have the same name and address that you have registered on amazon

No you can’t - amazon will link the 2 and you will be suspended - again

as you’ve only set up as an individual and not a business , i can only presume you haven’t registered with HMRC either and therefore are not actually looking to sell as a business on amazon anyway and are just trying to sell off your own used goods .
If that is the case, eBay and facebook marketplace are better suited and much cheaper

So, just to clarify, and apologies if I have missed this from a previous thread - were you planning to just sell off a few of your own personal second-hand items, and nothing New ?
If so then Individual account is fine, but as soon as you buy (or make) anything to sell on for profit then you DO need to be registered with HMRC and have a Business Seller Account on Amazon.

Unfortunately this is unlikely, as Amazon will automatically link any new account with this first one, even though not verified.
There must be some reason why this one is not getting through verification.

I’m not sure you can get any further help on this thread than the help given on the last one and you’d probably be better continuing on there before everyone (including mods) writes all the same things

@Maha_Amazon

Maha - please can you confirm, or otherwise, something you said to the poster Stallion_March on his other thread. It would be helpful to know what is correct if there other sellers are in the same situation.
To quote you:

You have stated that you live with your mother and the bills paid are not on your name. If a utility bill for the given address is not under your name, provide a utility bill associated to the address used to register, and any other supporting documents that prove you are operating from that address, even if the bill is not under your name.

As you will see from this thread and his previous one, that the OP is still struggling with verification, even though following your guidance.

Hello @Stallion_March ,

I’m Abella from Amazon, here to assist you.

From the post above, I understand that you have concerns related to “Identity verification”.

What information am I required to provide?

Individual sellers’ Points of Contact and Beneficial Owners: You may be requested to provide one the following documents:
Full valid passport
National Identity Card
Driver’s License (Regional differences may apply)
Residence Permit

Additionally, you may be requested to provide copy of a Proof of Address document, such as: Utility Bill, Bank Statement, or Credit Card Statement in the name of the Individual and dated from the past 180 days. Documents from financial service providers or online digital banks are not acceptable as a proof of address.

To Know more about Verification Process please click here.

Important: Prior submitting the document(Mobile Bill) did you verified/checked whether it contains all the required details such as name, address of you and the service provider.

Please share the document(Mobile Bill) and last Performance notification here so that we or any of the sellers on forum can help you.

Hope this helps!

Regards,
Abella.

Greetings friends, and Merry Christmas

Wanted to update you guys and what to advise on with any further problems of this sort coming up:

My individual account finally got verified on Christmas Day. After months and months of back and forth and help from you guys here’s what I learnt:

  • I annoyingly can’t specify the very thing I changed that made them eventually verify me

  • I had to change both my bank account details and mobile provider details so that my name and address matched exactly (flat 123 became just 123, town was written exactly the same not abbreviated etc.)

  • I scanned everything precisely with no missed edges and good quality scans, front and back of even the most trivial details

  • I gave them all my verification documents that I could find, even when they asked for only 1 thing

  • I made sure everything was compressed so that the full upload size of everything was under 10MB and all were PDF files

  • I live with parents so don’t pay utility bills officially under documentation. I only had my mobile bill (when I sent my parent files it wasn’t accepted or at least the combination of files I sent wasn’t)

That’s all that comes to mind at the moment. I also initially went to make an account but didn’t complete going through the registration stages, and then deleted that Amazon account (the consumer one). Email didn’t exist in their database anymore. So inevitably that didn’t affect the verification.

Hope this adds a sprinkle onto the knowledge base of why we don’t get verified. I still think it’s so annoying that you can speak to someone directly but I guess there’s no way around that with the behemoth that Amazon is.

Merry Christmas friends
