Same product different EAN numbers
We have a product that is already listed on Amazon by another seller. The current listing has no product details except the image, price & header and is hard to find when searched for. When we have come across this before it’s not been possible for us to update the listing.
We have our own GS1 codes that we use on our own products, is it against Amazon policies to use our numbers & create a new listing.

If the EAN is already in the Amazon system you won’t be able to create a new listing on the same EAN.
If no one else is using the existing listing and it’s your EAN then just update the listing with your product details. If anyone complains then all you have to do is supply evidence to Amazon of your GS1 codes.

Your best bet is to add your listing to the existing one using the manufacturer’s barcode. If there are no other sellers usually your details will supercede the original details.
If this doesn’t work contact seller support to amend the details providing proof of the listing (even a picture of the item with the barcode showing should work)
Once the detais are updated it should become easier to find in search
