This was already announced and discussed on the Amazon USA Seller Forum months ago.

Basically, manufacturers will be able to remove any unwanted sellers from listings advertising their products, without any proof or test buys confirming the sale of counterfeit items, in one click.

I suspect this will be terribly abused to get rid of unauthorised resellers of genuine goods.
