Unit in inventory "Found" in Defective Disposition?
I noticed a unit that was unfulfillable today and was surprised to find that it was in ‘defective’ disposition. I wasn’t able to find any clarification on what exactly defective meant, so I’m hoping someone here can shed some light.
I took a look at my inventory adjustments report and everything nets out except for two entries today, one of which refers to this defective unit.
Here’s what those two entries look like. I don’t know where the found sellable unit comes from as there’s no corresponding lost inventory so I’m guessing it’s related to this defective unit?
This is a private label item that is not electronic and is fairly simple, so I’m trying to understand why it would be marked defective. Further, I’m trying to find out if I can get reimbursed for it since it’s otherwise my cost to remove or dispose of it.
Is there any way for me to find out more info before requesting removal?

If the items were lost it is possible they fell off a pallet or a shelf of whatever. One of them may have been damaged on impact, or got dirty, or damaged by a worker and as such is no longer sellable. The other found item is in a sellable condition.
Unless I am corrected by someone (which is entirely possible) you’ll only know what the defect is if you get the items returned to you on a withdrawal.
When we get our FBA “damaged” or “unfulfillable” stock back, we find that 99% of it is perfectly sellable and goes back into stock and we have no issues from the buyers when it sells.
Frankly, we’ve given up on their reasoning and just check out the items fully ourselves paying no attention to what Amazon has stated about them, as with most things they say it’s usually irrelevant.
