Incorrect categorization of ASIN(s) is a policy violation

Hi All,

Thanks for taking the time to click and read through this, I’m just looking for some help. I fully appreciate I’m a very small fish and a massive ocean.

Background

I’m a small business seller with my own product that I designed and manufactured, the items have been selling slowly but well and I’ve been very pleased with the steady growth over the last 6 months. I spent a lot of time making sure the product pictures and descriptions were as accurate as possible, this included the product category. Once live and the stock send to FBA, I noticed that amazon automatically changed a number of things such as the category, this changed a few times until it landed back where I originally put it without any intervention from myself. I did log a ticket with amazon about this to which they replied there was nothing I could do and that amazon does automatically place the product where it feels it should be placed, I accepted this and just let it ride out.

Issue

I’ve received an email today stating…

“We are notifying you that incorrect categorization of ASIN(s) is a policy violation that negatively impacts your account health. If left unaddressed, this may lead to account deactivation.

Why did this happen?

One or more of your listings are listed in an incorrect category. This is against our listing and detail page policies.

ASIN: B0BJXWDQSL B0BJXNT9BF B0BJXKX1WK B0BJY1KTML B0BKH57PJN B0BL7QV23K

Incorrect Categorization: product_type”

What I’ve done

I’ve appealed against the violation stating that I believe the product type of Item Stand and the category of Toys & Games > Collectible Toys > Collectible Display & Storage is correct and best fit for the items yet all I get back is the bot response which I’ve also responded to and complied with yet its always the same response.

“We received your submission but do not have enough information to remove the categorization violation warning from your account at this time. To remove the warning, please send the following:

– The root cause(s) of the product category requirement violation.

– The actions you have taken to resolve the product category requirement violation.

– The steps you have taken to prevent the product category requirement violation going forward.”

Any advice to move forward would be great, I would love to stay on amazon as I find FBA perfect for my business regardless of the fees. thank you for your time.

Someone else had a similar issue yesterday, I’ll find the thread

As a side note, you need to ensure your wording is correct for ‘compatible with’ so that you don’t get a trademark violation for using the word pokemon

I agree this looks right. The other thread that I was involved with the other day on this had the same sort of issue with items correctly categorised but a violation issued. The Little Shop has posted a link to this.

It maybe worth posting on their thread to see if they have made any headway with getting it resolved. You are following the exactly the same path as them appealing that the category is correct but getting rejected.
