Listing error with generic product
Hello. I am adding NEW, GENERIC product and have this error even though I'm adding a NEW product trough Add a Product tool. How can I resolve this error?
Error: You cannot change a product detail page, add offers on another seller’s generic product or copy the product detail page to another store. If you want to sell a generic product, you must create a new product. To create a new product, follow the process outlined in the Add a Product tool. Did you select an already existing asin instead of randomly generated.

Its correct that you can request a GTIN exemption to be able to list your generic products. Check out this help page about List products that do not have a GTIN (UPC, EAN, JAN, or ISBN).

You may check whether you can get your own GS1 numbers and create a new product listing with your brand registered brand name. Otherwise, as Amazon lock some vital attributes of registered existing products on Amazon catalogue and consider that those products are identical to your own product, you will not let you change any of the attributes for security reasons.
