I'm facing an ongoing issue with Amazon incorrectly classifying our product—a Suture Practice Kit—as containing surgical clamps, medical forceps, and hypodermic needles, leading to its removal from Amazon.co.uk.

Key Points: The tools in the kit are non-sterile, non-medical-grade, and explicitly intended for educational practice only on synthetic models. They are unsuitable for use on humans or animals, as clearly stated in our packaging and instructions disclaimers. However, Amazon’s automated system keeps flagging our product as prohibited surgical tools. This misclassification is based on appearance, not function. We've tried to explain that other products resembling prohibited items are allowed on Amazon because they serve a different purpose than the real item. Our educational tools fall into the same category—they resemble surgical tools but are clearly labeled and designed (different size, materials, etc.) for training only.

The Official organ that regulates medical devices in the UK agreed with us in our email correspondence and clearly stated that our product is not a medical device because it doesn't meet the requirements to be considered one (medical devices either treat, prevent, or diagnose a disease).

We've appealed multiple times but keep receiving the same automated response. I’m seeking a solution that includes manual review by Amazon staff, as the automated process isn’t identifying the true nature of the product.

Please could you have a look into this and help me remove this violation as it does not apply to me. The ASIN is not listed in the EU/Germany marketplace and we never intend to sell there. We would just like our listing to be reinstated in the UK marketplace.

We believe the device has been wrongfully classed as a medical device, This is untrue, this does not require a prescription or medical/professional supervision for application or use, this device not contain any medical products or ingredients. We provided images of the product and the user manual to show this with CE safety mark on the packaging and certification provided as well all the safety testing documentation.

Hello Amazon Seller Forum,

We recently got one of our top selling food supplement / nutritional supplement products taken down as restricted because it is deemed as a prescription only medicine.

I have appealed to Amazon around 6/7 times now and all the usual strategies to get a product reinstated that has been picked up by a bot have failed.

They are adamant the product is deemed as a prescription only medicine even though every single ingredient is a natural ingredient, I have even sent the manufacturer spec sheet and the product label but still no luck.

They also keep mentioning they require a SDS for a dietary supplement? As far as we are concerned this stands for "safety data sheet" which is only applicable to hazmat / dangerous goods?

Any help or input would be hugely appreciated as we need to get the ASIN reinstated ASAP.
