Is there a way to put item cost in my amazon listing?

HI

I sell used items under the margin scheme so i pay VAT on the profit

every 3 months i file for VAT and its a lot of time to go to each order and put my item cost ( each transaction is a different SKU)

can i put the SKU cost when i list the item? this would save me a lot of times calculating the profit for VAT purposes

any advise is much appreciated

thank you

Yes, the SKU can be effectively whatever you want. It must be unique though. You can’t change existing SKUs - you would need to list again with your chosen SKU

You can put a cost price against your listings, via the inventory management tool.
Though frankly, I would strongly suggest that you don’t. Why give Amazon information that they don’t require?
Better to use a spreadsheet for the basics. If you want to use something more advanced, then I would suggest that take a look at something like Sellerboard.

Just looking back at this, I’m not entirely sure why you need to put prices on a listing for VAT purposes?
It doesn’t seem to make any sense.
Surely you are keeping a copy of all invoices for the goods, that you can either enter into some sort of accounts software etc, or a simple spreadsheet.
For VAT purposes, this should be all that is required.

If you have a lot of transactions you would need software like SAS, but I only have 100-150 transactions a months so I put my cost price in every SKU.
I sell used books. My SKU format is
listing date-ISBN-source-condition-cost price
