Automatic Receipt Generation - ' Not Eligible '

Hi all,

When I try and turn my automatic receipt generation on it says

You are not eligible for automatic receipt generation.

According to our records, you do not meet the Terms and Conditions of the VAT registration exemption. Consult your tax advisor to determine your EU VAT registration status and complete your tax settings.

I have gone through all of my settings for hours making sure I have filled everything in and I cannot see what’s wrong with my account and why it thinks I am not Eligible

I am a sole trader
I have never been VAT registered

I saw another post on this where someone had the same issue but there was no answer left has anyone had this issue that knows how to resolve it? I really need to get auto receipts on?

Thanks

I suspect its because you don’t meet number 2 of the criteria and so can’t be vat exempt:

As a business primarily established and dispatching only from the UK:

  1. You sell goods below the current domestic registration threshold.
  2. You only sell goods that are exempt/not subject to VAT.
  3. You do not store inventory (and/or dispatch goods from) outside the UK.
  4. You do not act as the importer of records when dispatching goods to an EU-based customer

Hey @Henworthbury,

@Sequin has asked some important questions, (thanks by the way!) @Henworthbury can you confirm if the questions posed define your current situation?

does what it says on the tin - amazon will just send your receipts to business buyers and those who ask for one

last time a UK seller had this issue, a Mod was able to check the settings I believe on the account

Anything bought from retail should be listed as ‘used - like new’ not ‘new’
